2 Wonderful Years

This weekend Jedd and I celebrated our 2 year anniversary. I just can't believe it has been that long. So many things have happened in the last 2 years that it is crazy, but we have so much enjoyed our lives being together as a family.

August 1st, 2008......We just got married and I was finally so glad to be done with wedding planning. We were living in our 2-bedroom apartment and getting used to married life. We were so excited to finally start our lives together. Jedd and I had met, got engaged and were married all within a matter of 8 months.

August 1st, 2009...... We were living in Jedd's parents' house (and a storage shed where most of our belongings were stored) while our home was being finished. This was an exciting time, but so very stressful with all the "house" stuff. We were able to move into our house in October.

August 1st, 2010.....We are living in our house and have finally settled in. We love having our own place to call 'ours'. Things have changed, especially with the expected arrival of our little girl in October, making our family count 3 instead of 2. We have grown together over the past 2 years and have really learned a lot about our selves and each other. It has been so fun just being the two of us, being able to come and go as we please, not worrying about a whole lot. But we are looking forward with much excitement to have our little Libby with us in 3 months.

These last couple years have been so great. I really am one of the lucky ones to find my prince who loves me and treats me like a Queen. Jedd has been nothing but amazing to me and I can't wait to see what the next years bring. So sweetie, thanks to the last couple years and here's to many MANY more! I love you more than anything!!

Oh ya and one more picture to post.....this is me at 7 months pregnant. 3 more to go! We are right on track for October 20th/21st. Libby is weighing in at 2 1/2 pounds and is growing perfectly and healthy. (Which means that I am growing...but maybe not so perfectly. Ha ha.) The ultrasound pictures we got last week from our dr. appt show that she is getting some chubby cheeks already. It is so fun to see how she changes month to month.

Just a few things......

So I have finally decided on colors and fabrics for Libby's room. I have decided to do pink and brown. Two of the fabrics below, we found at Wal-Mart for a great price and the others we found to put with it. My mom is going to make quite a few things with this fabric, first being a patched quilt. Then the stripe fabric on the right and polka dot fabric on the left are going to be a combination of everything else...... curtains, bumber pads, crib ruffle, and anything else we can make it out of. I'm so lucky to have such a talented mom that can do this for me! My mom and I have cleaned out every Wal-Mart with this fabric from Ogden to Bountiful. I LOVE IT!

We then found this fabric that I just fell into love with. So my mom is going to make another patched quilt with these too. I have always wanted a pink and green quilt and so here you go. Can't wait to see it put together.

This is me at almost 25 weeks (but I like to think of it in terms of months....a tiny over 6 months.....it seems to make me feel better). I can't believe how fast the weeks are coming and going. About 3 months left...October 21st. We went to the doctor's office last week and everything is right on track. Libby is weighing in at 1 lb 7 oz and is about 8 inches long. She is very very active, especially when I am going to bed. She kicks consistently when I lay on my left side, and when I turn over, she is satisfied I guess because she stops. Jedd thinks that it is funny and thinks she is being stubborn already just like her mom. We laugh, but both know how true it is. :) When she is in a kicking mood, you can even see my stomach push out. It is fun to have Jedd feel it, he is already so proud of her (especially when she pushes on my bladder).

Last but not least, I finally took a picture of the table my dad made for my birthday. It is all painted and set up. It completes our entry way in our house and I am in love with the way it looks. The "Cherry" sign is going to be hung up over the table, we just haven't gotten there yet. My dad is so talented, and everyone is amazed and jealous of his talent. I just smile and say yep...that's my dad!!

Getting Prepared

We made it half way through.....20 WEEKS! We went into the doctor on Friday June 4th and everything is right on track. We are slowly trying to get ready and buy a few things. We have bought just a few outfits for our little baby and a few other people have bought a few outfits for her too. Jedd says we need to start buying things that aren't pink, but who can resist for a little girl??

Also my amazing "great deal finding" sister has helped me find some good deals on diapers and wipes so why not start to stock up now?? Here is my pile so far. I have 2 other packages of diapers but they are the wrong size so I need to take them back, but pretty good huh??

And here is another picture. I know I took a picture at 19 weeks, but I wanted another one at exactly 20 so here you go.

I have a ton of things to do, but that is what a summer off of teaching can do!

Belly Belly Belly

I can officially say that I have joined the club of HATING my picture taken while pregnant. Well I hate pictures taken of me anyway, but even worse when I feel big. This is me at 19 weeks. Almost half way done!
(For all of you who say I don't look almost 5 months pregnant, here is my proof!)

Monster Truck Party

My nephew, Branson, had his birthday on Friday. He wanted to have his party at my house so of course I GLADLY said yes. It isn't too often that I get to host parties (especially niece/nephew parties) at my house. Branson wanted a monster truck party and so I tried to be as creative as possible. His favorite monster truck is Monster Mutt (a truck that looks like a dog, it has ears on the top and a tongue sticking out in the front.) So what other idea to make the cake than monster mutt. I researched online for a couple days and found a few great ideas to make this monster truck birthday cake. Then I searched online for a picture of Monster Mutt to go off of. Now, if you must, you can search for this monster truck, but don't be too judgemental on my rendition of the cake. This is what I came up with. It was supposed to be a light orange/brown, but all I could get color wise was orange. But I think it turned out pretty good. My most favorite part was the donuts as tires. Then my sister wanted to play pin "something" on the monster truck so I drew this off of my projector screen at school. I was pretty proud of this truck, and how great it turned out. Because it was so big, we decided to pin the "driver" on the truck. My sister came up with this cute idea to cut circles out of paper and we all draw faces on our circle for the driver we were pinning up. I can't remember who won, but it sure was fun to play. (Ignore the doofy picture of me!)

Results Are In......

Jedd and I went to the doctor's on Friday and we found out what we are having....

IT'S A GIRL!! We are so excited for little "Libby" to join our family in October.

Ok now a question for you moms out there. I have been looking at strollers because I have been so excited. What is your advice? Do I go all girl and get this adorable pink and brown stroller that I have fallen in love with? Or do I go green (there is a pretty cute green and brown one that I like) so I can use it if we have a boy down the line. What do you think? Go all girly and pink? Or be smart and economical and go for a cute green one that could go either boy or girl?

We go into the doctor on May 7th and if our baby cooperates, we get to find out what we are having. So what do you think we are going to buy? Blue or Pink? I really am curious to what you all think we are going to have so leave a comment with your guess. (I know it is a total guess, but I still want to know!)

Update

I am officially on week 14 (tomorrow) and I am feeling much better. I have finally pinpointed why I have been so sick the last couple weeks and have realized that it was due to these crappy horrible prenatal vitamins I was taking. Yes, they were a generic brand from Target and they are the most evil horrible things I have ever swallowed. Come to find out, every single time I would take them, the last couple weeks, I would throw up before going to work, try to hold things down while at work, and then would throw up when I would get home. I would even take them at night (per suggestion from many of you!) and that did not seem to help. My doctor recommended that I try these vitamins and they have worked WONDERS!!

They don't make me sick. And they actually taste like sweet tarts candy, that is until you swallow. BUT HEY, I am not sick and have yet to throw up once! I am feeling GREAT! Thank you Flintstones for making my life a little more enjoyable.

A few of you have asked questions so I figure why not answer them??

1. Yes I will be working next year. If I can get it officially approved (still waiting to hear the final word) I will be working every other day thanks to the A/B day schedule my high school offers. One week I'll work 3 days a week (Mon, Wed, Fri) and the next week I'll work 2 days (Tues, Thurs). I can still keep my insurance and my retirement years still count. My department head has been so great to work with me and has been doing what she can to help me out for next year.

2. About the gender of our baby: Jedd swears that it is a girl.....HANDS DOWN! I thought it was a girl, but then I go back and forth and am kind of leaning towards a boy at the moment. But let's be honest. I don't really have a "feeling" either way. I figure if Jedd says girl, I might as well say boy and one of us will be right.

3. I am not showing yet, well at least not to anyone else, but myself. I can tell a huge difference, but when I ask my husband, he just says "can't see a huge difference!" I can't do up my buttons on my pants, so I had to invest in a belly band to hold them up. Imagine if you will, I was using an elastic before I bought this "band" to hold my pants together. And all of a sudden I would lean over while I was teaching to pick something off the floor and oops.....the elastic would come undone. SO I would have to try very slyly to fix it. Not the greatest thing, but watching it, I'm sure, was quite the treat. Thank goodness I teach high school students that don't pay attention to anything anyway.

That about does it for answers to questions. Still crossing our fingers for May 7th to find out what we are having. I'll post updates every so often and when I actually start showing where people can tell, I'll post pictures.

The reason for my blogging hiatus......

Yep, you thought correct. Jedd and I are pregnant! I started getting horribly moody and not feeling so great in February (which is not me at all!) and so I took one of these and found out we were expecting. I am currently 12 weeks and a few days along and our due date is October 21st. We couldn't be more excited. The next question people always ask is... have you been sick? And the answer is YES! I'm sure most of you know exactly what I am talking about, but being pregnant sucks. All the puking and dry heaving (sorry for being graphic!), I don't know who in their right mind wants to do this twice. I know the end result is so worth it but at the moment in the thick of it all, I'm quite content thinking "I'll never do this again!" I've been extremely tired and food has really disgusted me. But I am starting to have more good days than bad days, so I hope that I am on the up-swing. (hopefully I am not speaking too soon!)

We have been to the doctor twice now and have had 2 ultrasounds. My doctor's office is amazing in that we get an ultrasound every visit so it has been fun to see all the changes that occurred between our visits of 4 weeks. We got to see our baby move for the first time and for the first time I think I really freaked out.....reality finally hit! But after I calmed down it was really fun to see our little one move and stretch it's legs, arms and back. Our doctor told us that if the baby cooperates, we might be able to find out what we are having the first part of May. If not we'll have to wait. SO..... everyone cross your fingers that this little one cooperates!

My Talented Dad

If any of you know my dad, he is a very talented and skilled woodworker. Every time I get the chance, I ask him to make me things. (There is something about my dad making me something out of wood that is so special to me! Maybe it's because I feel like I have a part of him in my house at all times. Who knows!) My dad loves to have a challenge and create things that he has never done before so in comes my request for floating shelves. My creative father put these together for me and they turned out so perfect! Everyone kept telling me it would be so much easier to just go buy them, but I really REALLY wanted my dad to make them for me. Because I am a little younger than my two sisters, I haven't had the chance very often to have my dad make me things for my house so this was a perfect time! With these floating shelves now hung on my walls, my bedroom is complete! Thanks dad I LOVE LOVE LOVE THEM!!!(And of course just a picture of the whole wall all put together.)

My birthday was this week and my mother-in-law picked this out for me to go on my night stand. Don't you think it matches perfectly with everything else? I just love it!
