Halloween Party

My mother-in-law's ward had a Halloween Party last night, so Jedd and I went along with his brothers and sisters and families. It was so fun to see at least Hailey in her costume. The night started out with dinner (Debbie made her amazing Enchilada Soup! YUMMY!) Then it was around to the rooms to play games and then trunk-or-treating at the end of the night. I only was able to grab a few pictures of Hailey and Kallee, Jedd's nieces, because my camera's batteries were dead. Oh well, here they are. Hailey is a "Nice Witch" and don't dare call her anything else! Cute Kallee wouldn't dare put on her costume.

After the cake walk, the girls totally devoured their cupcakes. Jedd even helped Kallee drop her's on the church carpet by chasing her! It was too funny.

My AWESOME husband Jedd

My sister tagged me so I thought this is a great opportunity to brag about my husband! I love him more than anything!
1. Where did you meet your husband? We met on a blind date. Jedd's mom set us up, she works as a sub at the school I teach at.

2. How long did you date before you married? We dated for 7 months before we were married. We met in January, were engaged in May, and married in August.

3. How long have you been married? Coming up on 3 months! Can you believe it?

4. What does he do that surprises you? Without fail, Jedd makes me laugh no matter the situation. I love to laugh, but Jedd can get me to laugh and never stop if he wanted. However, he tries almost daily to get me to laugh so hard that my drink comes out of my nose and mouth. I told him I used to do it often, so he has made it his personal goal to see me do this.

5. Favorite Feature? His smile. Every time he smiles, I can't help but do it as well.

6. Favorite Quality? Jedd is the best person I know. He is always there when someone needs him. He is strong in the gospel, and pushes to make me be a better person. He is absolutely HILARIOUS, and loves to make people laugh. He is honest, has a loving heart and is loyal. Do you want me to go on??

7. Does he have a nickname for you? Awas. (thanks to my nieces and nephews)

8. Favorite Food? Jedd really loves a lot of things, so it's not easy to find out what his favorite food is. It's hard to say, but just as long as he doesn't have to pick, then he loves it!

9. Favorite Sport? Is there any question? Baseball.....playing and watching. He loves to play golf, and also loves to watch sports, mainly football when Baseball is not on.

10. When and where was your first kiss? April in my apartment. Yes, I had to make the first move! :)

11. What is your favorite thing to do together? Man, there is too many to list. Mostly, just as long as we are together, we are happy doing ANYTHING. However, Jedd would say watching Cubs games are the best.

12. Do you have children? Nope not yet, we've only been married 3 months. And NO, this is not an announcement, and no there won't be one for a WHILE! :)

13. Does he have any hidden talents? Jedd hates to sing; however, he loves to impersonate singers. His new found favorites are Neil Diamond and Aaron Neville. It is absolutely HILARIOUS!

14. How old is he? Just turned 28.

15. Who said I love you first? Well that is kind of a hard question. Jedd was the first one to actually come out and say "I love you", but minutes before, I said it in a round about way because I was afraid that I might scare him. (Hopefully that makes sense!)

16. What is his favorite music? He loves tons of things. However, if you ask him, Neil Diamond is the greatest song writer of all time. He loves listening to all kinds of alternative stations, and KOSY 106.5. Yes, and as much as I hated it, he has me listening to it as well. However, recently he has really started to like Sports Talk Radio. He listens to Jim Rome and another guy, I can't remember his name.

17. What do you admire most about him? I admire the way Jedd treats me as his wife. There are so many people out there who don't respect their wives, or treat them as lesser people, expect them to do everything, and jump at the chance to talk about their wives and thier bad qualities. Jedd has always put me first, no matter what, and is always WAY TOO GOOD to me. He has never once said anything bad about me, and I have never heard once a word come out of his mouth that was demeaning or rude. He is more than I ever dreamed I would EVER deserve.

18. What is his favorite color? Chicago Cubs Blue.

Bowling and Halloween

My nephew Ashton had his birthday party on Saturday, and it turned out to be quite the party! It started early in the morning, but I won't give you too many details, you'll have to go to Michelle's blog for the specifics. We did go bowling and it was way fun. Orchard Lanes is where Jedd and I had our very first date so it brought back so many great memories of Jan 19th. I had to take a picture of us so I can remember it years down the road. Then the next picture is everyone that went bolwing for the party. It's a good thing I didn't bet that I'd win anyone, considering even Hailey my niece who is 3 beat me both games! Way to go girl!

It is a tradition at my mom's house that before Halloween, all the kids get to get dressed up in their costumes and they go trick-or-treating around all of the rooms. Well this year was no different and I couldn't resist taking pictures of these ADORABLE KIDS! And no I'm not biased. They are adorable! :) Yes, this is my mother dressed up as a Fairy Princess. Branson (Mickey Mouse) was hooked on my mom being a princess so we did the best we could. I think it turned out great! Sorry mom, I had to put the picture on, it was way too cute!The two princesses, aren't they cute?Because I was Michelle's photographer, I was lucky enough to snag a few pictures of her kids. I could just not stop looking at all of them, they were way too cute! :) My sisters (both Jerilyn and Michelle) are great to dress up their kids in what they want to be for Halloween. They try so hard and do such a great job! The kids are ADORABLE!!

I'm such a nerd, so I have been told....

Ok so a lot of you already know this, but I am quite the 'math nerd' to put it in nice terms. Well today, after a long waiting period, I finally got a document camera to use in my classroom. The school bought it for me, and yes it is $700. Some might ask what in the world is a document camera? Well, I took a picture to show you....

Here is a document camera. It sits on my counter in the back of my room. Now, some might ask then, well what does it do? Well here is your next answer. It projects on to my board anything I put underneath my lens. So instead of having to use this old thing which we all are familiar with (they have been around for years and years!!)......

I now only have to turn my document camera on and up pops my picture. This makes my life so much easier, because now I can actually show my kids at school what buttons to push on their calculators, and what their screen should look like. It also means I now don't have to transfer EVERYTHING over to an overhead sheet (the clear sheets that you used to have to use.) Now I can put any paper I want underneath and it projects.

So yes, I am quite the math nerd, but you know what, that is fine by me. I am in love with my document camera....yes it stays in the room I teach in.....but that's ok. It makes teaching so much better! Anything I can get my hands on to make teaching easier, right??

Wedding Day Pictures

August 1st, will forever be the best day of my life! Jedd and I were married in the Ogden Temple, and it was the most perfect day! The weather was amazing, and we were so happy to be finally be married! Here are the long awaited pictures! I know there are a ton, but yet again, how do you choose just one. These aren't all the pictures I am going to put on, so more to come, but for now, here are the ones at the amazing Ogden Temple.

We have an announcement.....

So may of you might be wondering what our announcement is...and so I don't keep you in suspense any longer, the awesome CHICAGO CUBS won the National League Central Division Title yesterday. They clinched a spot in the playoffs, and it was quite the celebration at our house. They won the Cardinals 5-4 to win their spot. Now, the Milwaukee Brewers were the closest team to the Cubs to take the spot; however, the Brewers were so many games back that they had no chance to catch the amazing Cubs! I thought I would mention just a few favorite things of mine about the Cubs. Ted Lilly (the picture on the left) has become my most favorite pitcher on the Cubs team. And yes, in case you were wondering, he did pitch yesterday for the winning game! There are may great players on the Cubs team, and Jedd wonders how ANYONE in their right mind can pick just one favorite player, but I had no problem.....Reed Johnson (picture on the right). Reed has not had a lot of playing time lately, and even though Lou (team manager) let's him play sometimes and Reed usually pulls out AWESOME, he will almost always sit out the next game. Could it be that he wears the bottom of his pants pulled up to his knees like an old fashioned player that makes him my favorite?? MAYBE, but that is the just the beginning. He plays center field, when he gets the chance to be in, and makes amazing plays. Dive catches, catces fly balls, and not only that, he has a pretty good batting average. It is quite funny how much more interested I am to watch the Cubs game when either Lilly is pitching or Johnson is in. However, some think that Jimmy Edmunds plays a better center fielder, I would have to totally DISAGREE. Johnson has won his spot on my number one list of favorite players in the MLB. The Cubs only have a few games left before they start the playoffs and so here at our house, it is all Cubs, all the time. Jedd only hopes that the games are played more on the common channels like ESPN or channel 13 rather than WGN, which is where most the games are shown on TV. So here at the Cherry house, this is our slogan....... "Go...Cubs Go"!!

So I FINALLY did it!

Ok so a lot of people have been bugging me about hanging my pictures up on my walls. Yes, I totally agree that it is quite ridiculous that I haven't hung stuff up since I have lived here for 2 months almost. Well on Tuesday my sweet sister came and helped me hang some things up. It is so nice to have another girl's opinion. Jedd is actually really good to help, but usually says "whatever you think looks good". Well that doesn't help a whole lot so Michelle and I put things up while Jedd went and played softball. The next couple pictures are of our living room and kitchen. It feels more "home-y" with things on the walls don't you think?

This sign I got from Jedd's mom as a wedding shower gift. I absolutely loved it and was so excited to hang it up. It sits right above our sliding glass door and it is perfect! These next pictures are of our bedroom. I absolutely love my bedroom and now with my black frames (that I have had for 2 years) and also my red frame hanging up on the walls, it looks great! Now all I need is to get my wedding pictures to put in the empty frames! I'm excited to see how things look with pictures.
These next pictures are of Jedd's cubs office. We have quite a few pictures we got during our engagements that were at the baseball field in Idaho. They fit so perfect in his room.

Yes, this is a "W" flag, the official flag the cubs put up when they win at Wrigley Field so everyone knows they won. Jedd wanted to hang it up in our bedroom, but I luckily talked him out of that and recommend we put it up in his Cubs office instead. Whew! I think it looks better in there anyway......
So yes, I finally hung things up on my walls and Jedd and I LOVE IT! It makes our apartment feel like "ours" and not so much a hospital with white walls.
