Happy Birthday Jedd!!

Today, September 13th was Jedd's birthday. Last night we went down to my mom's for a barbecue and we were surprised with a mini birthday party for Jedd. We walked in and this was the sign to greet us. My nephew Ashton colored it for Jedd, with a lot of black because as he remembers, Jedd told me his favorite color was black. Ashton had to make my mom find a black crayon just so he could color it. It was so cute. Of course Jedd is tough guying it! It makes me laugh how funny he is!

After dinner, my mom had made cakes for Jedd and all the grand kids to blow out the candles. Of course Jedd had a chocolate cake with chocolate frosting and he let the little ones help him blow the candles out. Look how cute they all are! The kids all LOVE any one's birthday because they all get to blow out candles like it is their own birthday. My mom even made 2 small cakes for the kids to eat.The cake was "de-licious" as the boys would say. They had fun eating it and were more than willing to pose for a picture for Aunt Awa.Ashton and Branson made birthday cards for Jedd all by themselves. Ashton's is a picture of Jedd and I. If you can't read what it says it is "Kylie throwing a ball to Jedd, Jedd getting ready to hit the ball." The best part about it was that he was so adimate about putting a "C" on Jedd's shirt for the Cubs because in Ashton's mind, Jedd is always wearing a "C" on his hat.Last but NOT least, these are pictures of our apartment that I decorated for Jedd on Saturday morning. I went shopping during my prep period on Friday to go get a few things and had to keep it all a secret. Well, Jedd is really good at figuring things out and he reads me like a book so I can barely keep ANYTHING from him. Well this morning I thought I would be sneaky and wake up at 4 AM, yes, 4 in the morning and decorate our apartment. It literally took me an hour because at 4 in the morning, I am still asleep. I thought I was so good thinking I pulled one on him and when we woke up this morning, he said he knew I was up to something. But it still was fun to surprise him. (OF COURSE the house was decorated with the famous Cubs colors! Would you have guessed anything else??)

For the rest of the day, I took Jedd to Maddox for lunch, we then went to a real putting golf course so he could try out his new putter I bought him for his birthday. It was so much fun. Of course Jedd won me 58 to 64 but for my first time, it wasn't bad. I had a BLAST with him. And we finished out the day going to Neilsen's for an awesome concrete where Jedd of course got cookie dough ice cream. It was such a fun day! Happy birthday Sweetie! I LOVE YOU!!

Honeymoon to Bedford Wyoming

Pictures of our Honeymoon...sorry there are a ton! First off Jedd surprised me and took me to the Alaskan Inn the first night we were married. I have never been there and so I absolutely loved our little cabin. It seems that "cabins" were our theme for our honeymoon. This was taken right before we left for Wyoming.

The Cabin....

(thanks to the Redd's who allowed us to stay in their "Lodge" for a couple days!)This is the view you get right as you walk in the door. This place was absolutely amazing. This is the other side of the big room. And yes, the cabin had cable and yes, we were watching the Cubs games while we were there. The cabin had a TON of rooms all with queen sized beds and every room had it's own bathroom. I'm not kidding this cabin was huge, and it was beautiful.Here is a picture of us on the property with the cabin behind us.

4-Wheeler Riding.....in the mountains

After we left for our first ride, Jedd decided that he had better check how much gas we had. Come to find out we didn't have ANY and he could see the bottom of the tank so we had to go back to fill up! Quite the adventure.

This was our first attempt to take a picture on our ride. Yes the camera is sitting on the 4-wheeler with a 12 second timer and I had to run across this stream with a LOT of rocks. As you can see the first attempt didn't work too well.

So Jedd decided that he could do better. He barely made it across but if you notice, our pants are completely soaked. I got way more wet than Jedd did. Come to find out Jedd can run across streams much better than I can. WHO KNEW??!!

This is the same stream but there is a bridge in the background. I am "pretending" to drive the 4-wheeler. I didn't drive it up on the trails, just out on the road. I didn't dare with it not being ours. Who knows what would happen if I had to dodge rocks and bumps and everything else.

This tree behind us was awesome. It is hard to see, but the trunk is totally bent at the bottom but it still grew straight up. Also notice the super hot glasses I forgot to take off for the picture. How embarrassing! Up on the trail, there is this huge hill that we went up on. If you notice we are quite high to see the top of these mountains, but it was gorgeous up there. I couldn't resist taking a few scene pictures. And then I had to take a few of us up there. It was quite an ordeal to set up the camera again on the timer. It seemed to work though...perfectly. This is Jedd's tough guy. And of course my sad pathetic attempt to look tough, but I end up looking just angry. I think I need to work on my tough guy look....

It felt so good up there, the temperature was PERFECT. It was so nice and relaxing how could you not just lay back and soak it all in? And last but not least are pictures we took with this beautiful backdrop. Yet again, Jedd pulling the tough guy...... (what a hottie!!) And me.....just laughing like I always do!

It was the perfect honeymoon and a perfect trip for us. I couldn't have wanted or asked for anything better! My husband is the BEST!

New Apartment

Okay so I know that it has been quite a while since I have updated my blog and SO MANY things have happened, but I am trying to still keep things in order, even though I want to get to the exciting things. However, here are pictures of our new apartment. We moved into a 2-bedroom in the middle of July before the wedding because Jedd works from home. He has to have a place where he can do things. I absolutely love our new place and I like it even better now that Jedd is living there with me! :) This is the view you get right as you walk in the door. To the left is the tv and sliding doors which is the next picture. To the right is the kitchen and dining area (the third and fourth picture). I do have to apologize because in these pictures I haven't decorated or anything, so just pretend that there are pictures on the walls and the floors are not cluttered!

This is our fun bathroom. Jedd's mom gave me for a shower gift all my fun curtains and rugs and toothbrush holders and all that great stuff. I absolutely love it, and it helped that Jedd picked it out with me. He likes it as well....it is pretty boyish. Jedd spoils me quite a lot and before we were even engaged, he bought me this comforter that I absolutely fell in love with. Everyone knew that after he bought me this in a king size and I was at the time sleeping on a twin bed, we were going to get married. I absolutely love it and couldn't ask for anything better! I have ALWAYS wanted a black, white and red room and he let me just go to town with it. He is so good to me. And lastly, this is our 2nd bedroom where Jedd works. We actually just bought this desk, our first purchase as a married couple, on Saturday. Jedd yet again spoiled me and let me get an "L" desk, something I have always wanted in my office. It only took us 2 nights to put it together and we absolutely love it! After I took this picture, I hung up all of Jedd's cubs memorabilia so it is his "Cubs Office". It is a room just for him, and it doesn't hurt that I love it as well!

Okay sorry no pictures, but I have to announce to everyone that I AM GETTING MARRIED TOMORROW! I know the majoity of you know this already, but I actually can't believe that it is finally here. Today is full of fun things and stresses and feelings of running around with my head cut of, but I guess it just adds to the fun. I'll post pictures when I get home and when I'm not so busy! Going to the Temple.....

I was able to go through the Ogden Temple on Saturday and loved every second of it. It was the best and coolest thing I probably have ever been able to do in my whole entire life. Here are just a few pictures that were taken after the session. I was completely exhausted but made everyone stay for a picture, ha ha ha. Here is my family...at least the ones that were able to go with me. Of course most of the boys were are at home with the kids so my sisters coule be there with me. How sweet!

Everybody was making fun saying that these kinds of pictures were going to be taken in less than a week on my wedding day, but I wanted to make sure that I snapped at least a couple pictures this day to help remind me of what a special day it was for me.

Happy 4th!

Our 4th of July was filled with fun things. This was the first Independence Day Jedd and I spent together so it was really fun for us! The day started out WAY TOO early with a Run/Walk 5k down in Centerville. My mom is so gung-ho about these things so she talked Michael, Afton, Jedd and I into going with her. It was pretty fun. However, one lesson I learned is that you can't start running and think that you will be ready for the race in 3 days. Oh well, we still finished in great time. Jedd and I had so much fun just going together. I was more tired than he was, but such is life!
After the race, the family met back up that afternoon. The party started out with swimming for those wearing suits, but turned out to be a whole family water fight for everyone there. We had a great dinner, pork steaks my favorite!!
Jedd and I got soaked, but the funny thing was that we got the most wet was our back sides. We didn't think it was fair because there were only 3 people that had water guns and the rest of us were left to defend ourselves with nothing. At one point, I sat on the ground and put a towel over my head....hoping I wouldn't get drenched. Well if you know my brothers, they made sure I was soaked! It's a good thing I started out my day with curly hair. It was such a fun holiday and it was so great that Jedd and I could spend it together with my family.

My Dad

Okay so I know that I already made a post for today, but I thought while I was on here, I would do this one as well. (I don't have internet at my house so I either have to go to my mom's or sister's house.) So for right now I have to talk about my dad. This picture was taken a coule years ago, the day I graduated from Weber State University. My mom and dad were both there supporting me and have always been in the background of my life. But I wanted to spend just a few minutes talking about my dad. As many of you know, he is usually pretty quiet, but lately my dad has really become more "social". He is literally one of the best guys I know, and even now as I am tearing up just thinking about him, there is no one I look up to more. He has always been there standing behind me, supporting me and giving me the strength to move on. I normally go to my mom with my problems, but I know that my dad is secretly listening and trying to help any way he can. He is one of the hardest workers I know and his example taught me to have a strong work ethic.
My dad is so cute with his grandkids. Every single time he sees them, he has to give them candy. We even have to stop by the gas station to pick up something if he doesn't have anything. This picture was just taken a few days ago and Hailey and Branson wanted to sit on papa's lap and read books. My dad had already put in a long day's work and had just came in from trimming trees in the hot sun and he still let them sit on his lap and read books.

I am so greatful that my dad is such a strong member of the church. He gives me strength and the faith to believe that everything will work out if I do my part. The last couple years of my life have been full of changes and stressful times, but he has always been there telling me that things will work out. Sometimes it amazes me that he can be so strong!

Now that I am about to get married (in less than a month!!), I have realized how important my dad is to me and how much I love him! He has and will forever be the BEST DAD IN THE WORLD!

Memory Card Happiness

As some of you know, I FINALLY bought a memory card and so I have been having so much fun taking pictures every where I go. It is getting addicting and every where I go, I think I can take a picture and put on my blog. Pathetic! This is just a few things that happened yesterday.

Sister's Day

Every Tuesday, my sisters, mom and I get together and have a sister's day where the kids get together and play and the girls get to sit and chat. Yesterday, it was the first time that I have had everyone up at my house so we ate lunch at my house and then went to the park that is just down the road. The kids were so cute watching a cartoon so I had to snag a picture. Almost everyone is smiling except for stubborn Ash. They were "kind of" playing CandyLand so that explains Ashton holding the black board and Branson holding a blue guy. This was my house right before we went to the park. It makes me laugh how fast things can get taken out of bins and how many toys can actually fit on the floor. I don't have kids, but man I tell you what, my niece and nephews used every toy they could find. This was just one corner of my house. And even though it was a mess (and there are cracker crumbs you can not see in my carpet), I LOVED every second of it.

Jedd's Softball game

Last night Jedd went to his softball game. He plays on a team with his 2 brothers and some friends. It is so much fun to go and watch him play. I know I have already said this already, but I really like going with him. And I don't know how much Jedd likes me yelling, but I cheer from the bleachers. This is him getting ready to bat, and if you can tell his right leg is getting ready to "squash the bug". He has tried to teach me how to do that and I never can learn the right way. It still makes me laugh....I'm such a "typical girl" when it comes to sports! (sorry for the metal fence in the way...I couldn't avoid it) Here he is waiting to see where the ball goes. Just so you know, he hit the ball perfectly to center field and he of course was out. This was not a good moment.
This last picture is of Jedd pitching. He is the official pitcher for this team he plays on Tuesday nights. He has since realized that playing center field is not so bad. He does an awesome job pitching though. I still get nervous that he is going to get hit. On the night we got engaged, a guy hit the ball right perfectly and hit Jedd's left knee. It was bruised for a while and sometimes he still has trouble with it. What a sacrifice for the game!
